Congratulations to all the participants in the 2012 SheROX triathlon, which began at the Whaler Bay premises of the Fairmont Princess in Southampton on 4 November. Particular congratulations to Flora Duffy , Bermuda’s only professional female triathlete, who won the race in an impressive 1:00:46. As www.islandstats.com puts it:
“On a Beautiful Bermudaful morning Flora Duffy stormed to victory during the 2012 Bermuda SheRox Triathlon.
Duffy was clocked across the line in 1:00:46, while Kristyn Robinson finished second clocking 1:07:59 and Karen Smith finished third with a time of 1:09:21. Duffy came out of the Water in a time of 8:59, she then covered the Bike Course in a time of 41:40, Duffy then completed the Run Course in a time of 42:19. The 2011 winner Robinson was the fourth swimmer out of the clocking 13:47, she then recorded the third fastest bike time of 47:47 and then she had the second fastest Run time of 48:27, while the inaugural winner Smith was third out of the Water clocking 11:13, she then clocked 48:11 on the Bike before recording a Run time of 48:51.“
