We enjoyed decent weather for the second race of the series, although the wind was a factor on the cycle. The turnout was decent. Some regulars were resting in advance of the next day’s May 24 race but we welcomed back some familiar faces.
Well done to Adam Petty, who made it two wins out of two, and Rebecca Harrison, who has improved radically from last year. It’s also nice to see Laura Hope, who seemed to became a regular at these events soon after she learned to walk, climbing the leaderboard. Apologies to those who were kept waiting at the start to allow her Dad, Dave Hope, to fix a last minute puncture; he’s been bringing Laura for so many years that he earned a little latitude.
